Tyson claimed in its marketing that it was committed to becoming a net zero business, and that its Brazen Beef line was \u201cclimate-friendly\u201d, marketing that has ceased thanks to a <a href=\"http:\/\/farmstand.org\/es\/caso\/tackling-deceptive-climate-claims-environmental-working-group-v-tyson\/\">landmark 2025 settlement<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"http:\/\/farmstand.org\/es\/caso\/deep-dive-tysons-climate-deception\/\">This Deep Dive resource<\/a> uses documentation including expert reports, SEC filings, Tyson\u2019s advertising (that has since been taken down), satellite imagery of feedlots, and more to illustrate why and how Tyson deceived the public about its net zero promises and Brazen Beef brand, and how that fits into the bigger picture of Big Ag\u2019s business model even after landmark greenwashing settlements against Tyson and JBS last year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This resource is the latest installment in FarmSTAND\u2019s <a href=\"http:\/\/farmstand.org\/es\/deep-dives\/\">Deep Dive series<\/a>, which transforms key findings from its lawsuits into resources that empower advocates, journalists, policymakers, and the public.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In 2025, <a href=\"https:\/\/earthjustice.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/ewg-v.-tyson-foods-inc.-settlement-agreement-without-addendum.pdf\">Tyson agreed to settle a lawsuit<\/a> brought by FarmSTAND, Animal Legal Defense Fund, Earthjustice, and Edelson, PC on behalf of the Environmental Working Group over this marketing. In doing so, the corporation <a href=\"http:\/\/farmstand.org\/es\/tyson-foods-agrees-to-stop-making-net-zero-and-climate-smart-beef-claims\/\">promised that Tyson would stop making their claims<\/a> about net zero and climate-smart beef for the next five years, unless an expert can actually back up their claims.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cTyson exploited the public\u2019s deep desire for products that are good for them and for the planet.
