Egelhoff&#8217;s ruling<\/a> dismissed the Colorado Livestock Association\u2019s suit that sought to strike down the law, finding that the industry group did not have standing.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span class=\"normaltextrun\">Agricultural workers tend to be isolated&nbsp;and work long hours. Many live in employer-owned housing or migrant labor camps on or near the farm&nbsp;or range&nbsp;where they work, far from nearby towns or services.<\/span><span class=\"normaltextrun\">\u202fThis makes it difficult for farmworkers to access essential service providers, creating obstacles to a basic quality of life.&nbsp;<\/span><span class=\"eop\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a title=\"https:\/\/www.coloradofarmworkers.org\/\" href=\"https:\/\/www.coloradofarmworkers.org\/\">Colorado Legal Services<\/a> and an anonymous farmworker intervened in the suit, joining the state&nbsp;in defense of the law. <a title=\"http:\/\/farmstand.org\" href=\"http:\/\/farmstand.org\/es\/\">FarmSTAND, <\/a><a title=\"https:\/\/towardsjustice.org\/\" href=\"https:\/\/towardsjustice.org\/\">Towards Justice<\/a> y <a href=\"https:\/\/www.farmworkerjustice.org\/\">Farmworker Justice<\/a> represent Colorado Legal Services in the case, and Colorado Legal Services represents the farmworker.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"xmsonormal wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThe court\u2019s dismissal Friday of a lawsuit by an agribusiness group affirms that farmworkers in Colorado have the right to access essential services like healthcare, legal services, and education. Colorado Legal Services is proud to continue to provide essential services to agricultural workers,&#8221; said Jenifer Rodriguez, Managing Attorney of the Migrant Farm Worker Division of Colorado Legal Services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"xmsonormal wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cFriday\u2019s ruling dismissing the challenge to Colorado\u2019s Agricultural Workers\u2019 Rights law is a victory for human decency, and for the health and well-being of<span class=\"xapple-converted-space\">&nbsp;<\/span>farmworkers in the state.
